Rolex and Women in the 20th Century:
Since its founding, Rolex has pursued high ideals. At the beginning of the 20th century, the brand was convinced that wristwatches should be equipped with state-of-the-art technology to guarantee accuracy, reliability, and performance comparable to that of the standard watches of the time (pocket watches).
Creating a small and precise movement for a watch is not easy, but it can realize Hans Wilsdorf's vision. At that time, watches were considered fragile jewelry for women, yet he set about designing stylish and reliable watches for both men and women.

   In 1914, a Rolex watch received the "A" certificate from the British Kew Observatory, then the highest authority in the field of precision watchmaking. Until then, this certification had only been available for marine chronometers.
Following this major breakthrough, the brand launched a chronometer-style timepiece designed specifically for women in 1957. The accuracy of this watch was certified, and it featured a calendar display. The Lady-Datejust was born, another milestone in watchmaking and a tribute to Hans Wilsdorf's mission:

Lady-Datejust, born in 1957, embodies the essence of the journal. Since its introduction in 1945, the Datejust has been the hallmark of Rolex watches, representing elegance and high performance.
The Lady-Datejust is the first Lady-Date Chronometer of the Datejust type. It condenses the elegant temperament of the journal into a small and exquisite 28 mm case, better suited to slender wrists.
