Rolex Submariner 14060 No Date

The Rolex Submariner is a true icon - and the word icon does get thrown around a lot. If you were to ask 10 people to draw you their idea of a watch looks like - chances are they would draw or describe something that looks like a Rolex Submariner. It’s the dive watch of reference good/bad/indifferent there is no escaping it. Over its 70 year run there have been numerous changes made to the model, but this - the reference 14060 - is considered to be the end of the ‘Traditional’ Submariner for a variety of reasons.

The 14060 replaced the much-loved 5513 and like that model underwent a series of changes over its long production run. Early 14060s had tritium dials with drilled lugs.

The present 14060 cuts down the middle. It still features and early tritium dial and hands - meaning that this will age beautifully like any vintage watch with cream colored lume at some point. The 14060 was the last hurrah for the 40mm Submariner before Rolex introduced it’s now ubiquitous ‘maxi-case’ and it might be the ultimate neo-vintage pick. A real up and coming favorite in the world of vintage, the Submariner 14060 is one to watch.
